Had a great day yesterday doing one of my favorite things, taking a long urban hike in San Francisco. Great exercise canceled out by great food along the way. Oh well.
Seeing the community in which I live reminds me of a great way to get listings.
Get involved.
As I talk about in the Top Producer Blueprint, getting involved in your community is a great way to meet people, have fun, feel good about giving back to your community and getting leads as well.
I know it sounds a little mercenary, but hey, why not?
What’s wrong with donating your time to worthwhile organizations and if you should happen to meet someone that needs to sell their home, all the better.
I have been on countless boards throughout the years including the San Diego Hospice, the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in addition to others.
And in every instance, I feed my soul knowing I was doing a little to make my community a better place.
And I made lifetime friends with my fellow volunteers who I still talk to this day. And these same friends are in my SOI list receiving my weekly emails about real estate in San Francisco.
I cannot tell you how many referrals I have received over the years from this group. And how many of their homes I have sold for them.
So give back to your community.
Make lifelong friends.
And if you get business out of it, and you will, that is the cherry on top.
In my view, it’s a win-win.
