Hope you’re having a great week! The weekend is upon us and I know many of you are looking forward to taking some time with your family. As many of you know, I am on this cruise right now and I am always surprised when someone from around the world gives me a referral.
One of the things I love recovering from is the shock when random strangers give me referrals to listings.
I guess I shouldn’t be shocked. Because I am always asking for referrals.
Actually, the referral is from a guy who lives in Tucson and I will be giving it to a listing agent in the Agent Unleashed Collective.
Crazy how you have to go to Russia to get a referral back in the States.
Sometimes when I travel, an agent knows I am in their hometown and they hit me up and ask me if I want to see properties.
This happened once to me in Miami and I ended up meeting the woman who, as it turns out, was super nice. And she sure isn’t shy about asking for referrals, and I will always think of her when a lead comes up in Miami.
I am always asking new buyers, new sellers, my SOI, etc. Try to work it in the conversation in a natural way and you will be surprised how many times you’ll be surprised just like I continue to be.
So the takeaway here is to get in the habit of always asking everyone for referrals to listings.
Don’t be shy about it.
Develop the habit so often it becomes a part of you.
Always be asking.
