Hope you had a wonderful Christmas weekend! We had a super chill weekend watching movies and spending time with friends.
Have you ever noticed that many Unleashed listing agents have one tool in their arsenal that they employ all the time?
A sense of urgency.
Entrepreneurs who have a sense of urgency make shit happen, plain and simple.
I have noticed that regardless of what people aim to achieve whether it’s in the sports field, business or otherwise, those who set themselves apart from the rest maintain a sense of urgency to be the best they can be.
As a CPA when I was running the high tech department of PriceWaterhouse Coopers, the large CPA firm in San Francisco, I reviewed hundreds of companies’ operations and business plans and a sense of urgency was inherent in all the successful organizations.
So developing this mindset can be done if you’re not feeling it in your business.
Here’s how:
. Make smart decisions with confidence and act on them quickly.
. Identify obstacles and get rid of them fast.
. Think of outcomes instead of tasks.
. Get your staff on board with this way of thinking.
. Identify what works and get rid of the rest.
. Encourage, don’t nag.
. Celebrate successes with your team.
. Agree on deadlines with yourself and your team.
In his book, “A Sense of Urgency,” John Kotter explains that a true sense of urgency is rare; mainly because “it is not the natural state of affairs. It has to be created and recreated.”
So the task of being urgent is something we have to be continually conscious of doing and communicating.
Inject a sense of urgency into your business and be the Unleashed listing agent you are.
