Happy New Year!  How was your New Year’s Eve?  I’m having a blast this morning calling my SOI and wishing them a successful 2023 and catching up!  

Connecting with my SOI, as well as other types of leads, is really one of my a passions.  I love doing it because I love connecting with people.  As Agents Unleashed, it’s what we do.

Everyone always talks about passion in life.  And there’s no doubt having a passion makes life a hell of a lot more enjoyable.  And the Japanese have this concept nailed.

According to the Japanese, everyone has an “ikigai”.   An ikigai is essentially ‘a reason to get up in the morning’.   A reason to enjoy life.  A purpose in life.

It was statistically proven that the presence of ikigai is correlated with a lower level of stress and an overall feeling of being healthy. Some studies showed that people that don’t feel ikigai are more likely to experience cardiovascular diseases.

Feeling of ikigai balances out the secretion of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin and β-endorphin.  Some studies demonstrate that a sense of purpose (goal) in life/ikigai is negatively correlated with a need for approval from others and anxiety.  Studies also found that ikigai is associated with longevity among Japanese people.

SO, find some way to work your passion in your life, even if it’s not real estate.

My passion in life is helping others.  In some way shape or form I have always helped others, whether it is helping sellers or helping listing agents reach their full potential.  This really turns me on.

But if your passion is not real estate, you can still be an amazing listing agent while working your passion into your life.

If you passion is gardening, then work your real estate business the best you can and make sure you’re spending time each week in your gardening.

It’s been proven that doing so, you will become a kickass gardener AND also it will make you an amazing listing agent.  Your business will thrive.  And you will be healthier.
