One of the goals we have this year at the beginning of this new decade is to volunteer more to help underprivileged youth.  One of the big reasons for coming to Panama for us is to either start or participate heavily in an existing organization here.  We are super excited about it.

And you should consider spending more time in a volunteer capacity as well.  It’s a great way to give back AND get listings.

I know, I know, you’re probably thinking to yourself that this is mercenary and totally inappropriate.

It’s not.

First and foremost, you should be volunteering to give back.  Now that is said, what’s wrong with getting a listing in the process?

I have joined many organizations, I have been on many boards and I can’t tell you how amazingly satisfying it is to give back to our world in whatever way excites you.

The truth is though, that in your volunteering, you are going to make new friends, start new relationships and get your name out there.

I can’t tell you how many listings I have received over the years from friendships and relationships that came from all the boards I have been on.

It’s organic and a natural process, you meet people, they trust you and sometimes need to sell their properties.

That is not why were are volunteering in Panama, I have no interest in being in real estate there.

The fact remains though, when you volunteer in the community where you sell real estate, you will get referrals.

This is a great time of year, now that you’re planning your schedule and contemplating life and your year, to seriously consider increasing your volunteering efforts. 

Do it for the organization, do it for yourself and do it for all the good you’re putting out into the world.

And if you get a listing out of it, good for you.
