I remember I saw the movie “When Stalin Died” a few years back which is a funny satire about communism and Russia in the 1950s. I love working hard from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m and then taking time in the afternoon to see a movie with my friends and family. It’s a great distraction. Hit me up here to get my daily schedule.
Most of the characters in the movie are super aggressive trying to get the leadership position for the entire country. They bribe, kill, steal, etc.
Sort of like some listing agents trying to get a listing, no?
There is a fine line between being aggressive as a listing agent and being a putz.
And if you’ve been in the business for 25+ years like me, you know the difference.
Hopefully, you do.
Of course, I am saying you should be aggressive in getting listings. Making calls, doing Facebook ads, meeting new people and telling them you sell real estate. All the things we all know we should be doing.
But don’t be a d&*k about it.
People skills people, people skills!
One agent relentlessly pursued a listing that I had ALREADY listed for sale, calling my client and talking shit about me. Do you believe that? That’s not aggressive, that is stupid.
My client reported her to the state real estate board.
So be aggressive about calling your leads frequently. If they say they are going to be selling in 6 months, call them in 3 months.
But don’t harass them.
Don’t call them names.
Don’t call them after they say to stop.
Don’t be a putz.
