It’s that time of year again! Taxes. The dreaded tax return. Getting my info to my tax attorney for her to do my returns is awful, I would rather have my nails pulled out.
But it is a great time of year to send your clients one of the things they need most.
Now is the time your clients are going crazy with tax returns and if they closed on their house last year, they need that seller or buyer closing statement.
So contact each title company if you don’t have their closing statements and get them all for each closing last year. Then mail them out to your clients with a nice note explaining that you’re sending these to them for their tax return preparation.
Here is the key: CALL them all a week later (great excuse to call) and make sure they received them, receive their thanks, and tell them if there is anything else you can do for them, to call you and then, “Oh, and by the way, if you know anyone else selling, please let me know”.
I love doing this because for hardly any money, you look like a superstar for remembering them and I once got a listing from doing this.
To me, this is a no-brainer.
So get cracking on this asap.
And you will be a Star in your client’s eyes!
