A newer agent from Maine just asked me, what’s the best way to get listings. In my opinion, listings are like oxygen – you need them to survive.
So, here’s Real Estate 101, how to get your hands on some prime properties:
- Networking: Think of it as a dating app for real estate agents. Swipe right on other agents and professionals in the industry, and before you know it, you’ll have a whole list of listings to choose from.
- Branding: Make sure you’re the hottest property on the market by creating a killer personal brand. And just like when you’re getting ready for a date, make sure your branding is consistent across all platforms.
- Online presence: A strong online presence is like a good wingman. It’ll help you attract more listings and give you something to talk about on your first “date” with a potential client.
- Marketing: Put your best foot forward by investing in marketing efforts. Just like when you’re trying to impress a date, make sure your flyers, brochures, and direct mail campaigns are looking sharp.
- Follow-up: Don’t be that person who never calls after a date, follow-up with past clients and potential leads. They’ll appreciate the attention and might even give you a second chance.
- Professionalism: Always act professional. Be knowledgeable, be prepared and most importantly, be funny and make the process of listing their property a pleasant one.
By using these tips, you’ll be able to get more listings than you can handle!
Just remember, getting listings takes time and effort, but with a little bit of charm and a lot of persistence, you’ll be well on your way to real estate success.
