Hope you had an amazing weekend! Are you taking some downtime for yourself each weekend?
Henry Ford said, “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”
I have been coaching some of you through some dark thoughts about the market, the economy and our ability to sustain a listing business through some hairy times.
Listen, I have been in this biz for our 30+ years and seen it all. I started in 1992 in one of the worst real estate markets. I remember buying my first house when interest rates were 18%.
The world didn’t collapse. The market recovered (I’ve seen it recover many times). Interest rates go up and down. Politicians go away and new ones come in.
The most important thing to remember is to be consistent with your prospecting.
So learn new ways to find listings and find a mentor who can guide you through the turbulent times (how about me? LOL!)
Find out how to be the best listing agent you can be during the downturns and you’ll come out of this on the other side stronger and better than you’ve ever been.
When I started real estate in the 1990s and learned how to prospect in a down market, I developed a strong, consistent, resilient prospecting listing practice that continues to this day.
I joke that my prospecting “bone” is unstoppable!
So remember those words; strong, consistent, resilient, consistent.
