I was emailing with a good friend in St. Louis who truly is an Agent Unleashed getting listings left and right by doing one thing very well.
She’s super active in her community.
She gets a lot of referrals from groups and boards she is on. She has been working this angle for her listing business for many years.
I have been on boards that were near and dear to my heart for the past 25 years including the San Diego Hospice Corp., Artists for AIDs Relief, the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
All of these organizations do great work and I loved being a part of them.
And I made great friendships and met a lot of people that have given me great listing referrals, including a large house I sold last year owned by a board member with whom I became great friends.
This is a great way to conduct your listing business.
Doing good for others, making great friends and acquaintances and getting killer listings in the process.
It takes determination and time to get involved with the organizations but it is so rewarding.
One caveat…..you can burn a lot of hours for the non-profits if you don’t establish boundaries up front and then can you get burned out. So set boundaries for yourself.
Otherwise, as the old adage goes, go out there and reap what you sow.
