I am trying to double-end a new listing that I am bringing on the market. I have some buyers that would be perfect for this house. I am about 2-3 weeks from bringing it on the market, will have to keep you posted to see if I can pull this off.
And one of the sellers is a yoga instructor down the pennisula from San Francisco. I asked her if there is one similarity with any of her clients in Silicon Valley and she told me there all busy high tech wonks making a lot of money in the “Valley”.
I asked her how did these guys and gals making all this money working 12 hours a day make time for her studio. She told me something interesting. It’s her experience that truly successful high tech people make the time for their spiritual practice in some way shape of form.
Wow, was I surprised.
Then I started noticing how other very successful people really incorporate some form of spirituality into their daily lives. Oprah, Richard Branson, Bill Gates, all do something.
Whether it’s yoga, meditation, praying, going to church, you name it, they are doing something.
I have been meditating for years. I try to be consistent and I am not perfect. But 10 to 20 minutes a day is all it takes for me to “find my center” and have a mostly fun and productive day.
As Epic listing agents, we have so much stress, so much craziness dealing with sellers and other crazy ass agents, we NEED a respite on a daily basis.
So whether you like to pray, meditate, do yoga, breathing exercises, whatever. Find time during your day, preferably in the morning first thing, where you can “find your center”.
In doing so, it will be easier, I believe, to find new listings.
To handle stress better.
To live a more productive life.
To be more joyous.
Because, as my spiritual mentor, Sharon Gist, always said, “You’re only job in life is to find your joy. From a place of joy, you can do anything”.
