It blows my mind that seemingly intelligent people on both sides of the aisle believe that everything said on the internet is true. There is so much distrust and friction in the U.S., it is so sad. Whatever happened to the reasonable man approach? Oh well, rant over.
What else blows my mind is the number of super cool real estate agent relationships I have with agents all over the San Francisco Bay Area.
And I just received a great listing referral this week from a SF Bay Area agent. This is a listing I would never have had if it weren’t for my friendships with great agents.
You see, San Francisco is a large metro area and I pretty much only work in the City. The surrounding counties are geographically large and all have their idiosyncrasies, which is not efficient for me to work.
So I have made great friendships with agents who do work those surrounding counties and we exchange referrals.
It’s a great way for all of us to get listing referrals to listings that we would never have received.
I am sure there are markets surrounding your town or city that are within 1-2 hours from you that are too time-consuming for you to work. Why would you take a listing that is an hour away from you when you can concentrate your time working your immediate market and just refer it out for a great referral fee? (this may not apply to rural markets)
How do you find these agents?
Find top agents in the areas close to you and introduce yourself, mastermind with them, take them to lunch or to coffee, contact them frequently and ask them to exchange referrals with you, etc.
It’s a great way to get listings, give listings, make friends in the industry and do it all for no cost or low cost.
Are you doing this now?
