And speaking of supercharged, there is one thing that is free and everyone can use to supercharge their prospecting for new listings.
Music.
When I prospect in the morning, calling my SOI and my seller leads, I turn on some fast dance music that gets me all “jiggy”.
There is nothing more fun than listening to some cool tunes while dialing for dollars.
I listen to CeCe Peniston, Beyonce, Gaga, The Chainsmokers, Drake, you name it, if its catchy and fast, I love it.
With the informal study that I have done with myself (it’s very scientific, mind you), I prospect longer and call more people when I am listening to music (and sometimes people find me dancing during my prospecting time which is awkward).
And no-one ever complains that they can hear music in the background, so don’t use that as an excuse not to do it.
Research has shown why it makes sense to listen to music while prospecting.
It stimulates the same part of the brain that reacts to drugs and sex. Because music that you love releases dopamine in your body, it’s the same thing that happens during sex.
Now, far be it from me to compare the two, but why not take advantage of every tool you have to make your prospecting count?
So, whatever type of music gets you all “jiggy”, turn it on, play it loud between calls and have a ball prospecting!
