Just spoke at the San Francisco Association of Realtor’s Global Fair last week and had a blast talking to a large group of people interested in international real estate.  I was actually approached by a woman who may want me to co-list a property with her.

This got me thinking.  What is a great way to advertise yourself at no cost?

Public speaking.

I know this isn’t for everyone.  I personally am a bit of a ham in front of large groups and love talking to them.

But if you’re willing to give it a shot, there is no better way to advertise what you do and get business and again, at no cost to you. 

If you’re not a good public speaker and want to become one, I highly recommend joining your local Toastmasters group.  I was in one group for many years and it’s supportive and will really help you refine your speaking skills.

And there are many opportunities for you to speak to groups.

Your local association of Realtors can help you with this.  Also, religious groups, local business groups, the Rotary in your town, non-profits, etc.

It’s fun, it’s a great way to meet people to build your SOI, you will get listings, establish yourself as an expert and did I mention it’s A LOT of fun!

You know I’m all about inexpensive ways to get listings. 

And speaking in front of groups is one of the best ways to do this.
