This One Thing Will Guarantee You Lots Of Listings

Before I went to Rio de Janiero I had dinner with my designer friend in Panama.  She is always hustling and her business is booming.  I asked her what happens when her business slows down, what does she do?  She told me she rarely slows down because she is ALWAYS advertising and looking for new clients.

How funny and similar is that to real estate?

You see, right now I’m in sort of a lull.  I have about 4 listings, maybe 5, coming up on the market in the next 4-6 months, but for the next month, we are dead in the water.  We are closing our only escrow tomorrow.

Am I going to feel sorry for myself?  Hell no!

But I am going to step up my game with marketing.  Just like my designer friend, I am going to call more, reach out more and start doing different forms of marketing.  

You see what my friend reminded me was that we ALWAYS need to be marketing.  When we are super busy, we should be marketing.   When we are really slow, we should be marketing.

It is imperative that we all set aside some time EACH day, 5 days a week to do some type of marketing.  Consistency is the key!

I call every morning between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Short of illness or being out of town I call EVERY morning.

No excuses.

It is so important to me, that people know not to schedule things with me during that time.

My business partner just tried to book a listing appointment with me during that time and I said no.  Reschedule it for another time, which he did.

You have to make this time, whatever time you choose, sacrosanct.  Sacrosanct is defined as 

“especially of a principle, place, or routine, regarded as too important or valuable to be interfered with”.

So let’s put on our big girl boots and find that time and consistently market like an Unleashed listing agent.
