Just had a great start to my morning, waking up at 4:30 a.m., meditating, working out, eating healthy and then starting this email which will be followed by an intense 2 hours of prospecting for listings.
This is my daily routine. Some say this is boring. Some think it’s crazy getting up this early. Some say I am just crazy period.
The important thing is that this is a routine that works for me.
Mark Twain, Benjamin Franklin, Tony Robbins, Steve Jobs, all said the same same thing about a routine.
Routine is crucial for success.
Not having a routine means that you are all over the place and, chances are, you get nothing accomplished during your day.
Researchers at the University of Nottingham and the National Institute of Education in Singapore reviewed 83 studies on self-control to come to the following conclusion: Results revealed a significant effect of ego depletion on self-control task performance.
Translation: The longer the day goes on, the more fatigue your self-control experiences, the more important it is to make those early morning hours count.
So I always talk about getting your biggest tasks done early. “Eat that frog” first thing and everything else during the day will fall into place.
That is why your morning routine, in particular, is so important.
Whether you start your day at 4:30 a.m. or 11 a.m., make it count!
